I have a long-lived interest in what makes our bodies function. Over the years, I’ve been led to the philosophy that our wellness is cumulative and affected by all aspects of our lifestyle, past to present.
My background is diverse and spans across interests in horticulture, bodywork, and nutrition. All these interests funnel into a single theory of everything (ex. nutrition, environment, thoughts) we come in contact with affects our overall well-being. My Bachelor of Science is in Biodiversity and Conservation Biology with a concentration in Botany. I worked in this field in many capacities over the years learning the importance of ecology, phytonutrient diversity, and herbs. During my transitional years, my experience as an administrative assistant in a rehabilitation hospital gave me insight on how baseline health and an integrative approach influences treatment outcomes. I always had an interest in bodywork and when the opportunity presented itself to enroll in a Massage Therapist Program, I took it. I currently work at a spa as a licensed massage therapist, substitute teach at my local massage school, and work with personal clients. These personal clients made me aware of how fragile yet resilient our bodies can be and how small changes can result in long-term benefits. I wanted to learn how to navigate our food system to decrease my own inflammation and that of my clients. This lead me to expanding into nutrition consultation with the completion of my Masters in Applied Clinical Nutrition from Northeast College of Health Sciences.
Some interests of mine are hanging out with my husband and bernedoodle, cooking, hiking, running, gardening, microgreens, yoga, books/podcasts, music, anything water related such as waterfalls, swimming, and the beach!
